VEHICLE FIRE PROMPTS REWARD AND SEARCH FOR ARSONIST
Early Saturday morning March 27th, around 2:55am The Barren County Sheriff's Office responded to a car on fire approximately 7.5 miles south of Glasgow on Tompkinsville Road.
Upon arrival Deputy Greg Kinslow learned that a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix parked in front of a residence in 7600 block of Tompkinsville Road had been set fire. The owner of the vehicle who was inside the residence discovered the fire, where he immediately called 911 and was able to extinguish the blaze with a fire extinguisher before the car became engulfed in flames. Units from the Temple Hill Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene.
The owner is now offering a $100.00 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this crime. REWARD OFFERED IN HANDGUN THEFT
The Barren County Sheriff's Office is investigating a theft that occurred sometime Wednesday night March 24th or sometime during the day on Thursday March 25th. Thieves entered a garage on Millstown Road and stole a .22 Caliber five shot North American Arms "pug" revolver handgun that was in a 1980 Ford pickup.
